Inter-GCC tourism and investment comes into focus at the Gulf Investment and Tourism Forum (GITOF) this month, from February 14 to 16, at the Gulf International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Gulf Hotel.
The forum is being organised by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) jointly with the Gulf Tourism Committee, under the Federation of the GCC Chambers of Commerce and with the support of the EDB. “We have invited tourism sector bodies in the Kingdom, including companies, travel and tourism agencies, airline companies and hotels, to the forum,” said BCCI chairman Dr Essam Fakhro. “The chamber has stressed the importance of such participation because discussions are aimed at increased inter-GCC tourism and investment.”
The prime theme of the forum is True Investment Opportunities. The forum, and the accompanying exhibition, will be attended by the GCC ministers of investment, tourism and development. It will seek to adopt a mechanism to upgrade tourism facilities in GCC countries, he said. The need for special tourism packages with attractive prices and financing tourism projects in the Gulf, will also be studied.
