Kempinski Hotel Aqaba

Spotlight on Dubai and Jordan
Kempinski, the oldest luxury European hotel group, is in the midst of the biggest expansion drive in the company’s long history, on target to operate a total of 70 properties throughout the world by 2007.

Kempinski is set to open its much talked-about first Dubai property, the Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates in Spring 2006. The 48,000-sqm, five-star property is part of the Mall of the Emirates, which is home to Ski Dubai. It will offer an unmatched “Alpine resort” experience.
The group is set to manage two more luxury properties in Dubai, developed by the Emerald Palace Group. The 200-unit Kempinski Palm Jumeirah Residences, opening 2008, will be set in grounds covering 92,900 sqm on the crescent-shaped breakwater surrounding The Palm, Jumeirah. The 250-room Kempinski Hotel Emerald Palace will be set in the same grounds and will be one of the most luxurious hotels on The Palm when it opens in 2009.
Apart from the UAE, Kempinski is spreading its wings in the greater Middle East with two luxury resort properties in Jordan. Sited in an oasis of calm on the shores of the Red Sea within three acres of lush gardens, the Kempinski Hotel Aqaba will feature 216 rooms, suites and cabanas set throughout the grounds.
Aqaba fits perfectly in our strategy to create a Kempinski circuit in Jordan with properties in key locations catering to both business and leisure visitors. The Kempinski Hotel in Aqaba will complement our other two properties in the area – the Kempinski hotel in the capital Amman, which opened last year, and the Kempinski Hotel Ishtar on the Dead Sea, due for completion in 2006.

Competition strategy?
Kempinski prides itself on being a collection of individuals – each hotel is a distinctive property, with its own character and charm, celebrating the cultural traditions of its location.  With hotels overlooking Ski Dubai, the Abu Dhabi Corniche, Red Square in Moscow and the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, each Kempinski property reveals the character of the country in which its guests are staying, while they enjoy impeccable personal service.
