Meckelburg takes charge at Taj Palace
Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces has appointed Helmut Horst Meckelburg as general manager (GM) for Taj Palace Hotel Dubai.
With the Taj Group since 2000, Meckelburg worked as the area director of the Goa region in India and was also GM for the Taj Exotica Resort and Spa, Goa. He has also worked for Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City, the El San Juan Hotel & Casino in Puerto Rico, the Westin Chosun Beach Hotel in South Korea, the Los Angeles Hilton & Towers in LA, the Royal Abjar Hotel in Dubai, the Golf Hotel Sharm in Egypt and the Hotel Bachmair am See in Germany-Bavaria.
InterCon Muscat welcomes Cavagliotti
InterContinental Hotels Group has appointed Renzo Cavagliotti as GM of the InterContinental Muscat. A member of the InterContinental since the mid-1970s, he was previously GM of the InterContinental Regency Bahrain. Cavagliotti began his career with the group at the InterContinental Koln in West Germany, where he occupied various positions in the F&B department.
Rigaud at Holiday Inn Downtown Kuwait
InterContinental Hotels Group has appointed Laurent Rigaud as GM of the new Holiday Inn Downtown Kuwait, set to open in early 2006. He has more than 20 years’ experience and was previously resident manager of the InterContinental Abu Dhabi. Rigaud has also worked at hotels in Lebanon, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Australia, England and France.
Bergé is area DoSM at InterCon
InterContinental Hotels Group has appointed Pauline Bergé has been as area director of sales and marketing (DoSM) in Oman. She has moved into the role from her previous position as director of sales and marketing at the Crowne Plaza in Oman. Bergé has worked in various sectors of the hospitality industry over the past 15 years.
Egami at Regency InterCon, Bahrain
Masami Egami has been appointed as DoSM of the Regency InterContinental, Bahrain. He started at the Osaka Hilton and moved on to other hotel chains in London, Düsseldorf, Istanbul, Jeddah, and Bangkok. Egami has also worked as sales manager at the InterContinental London. His most recent position was as director of business development for the Metropolitan Hotel in Dubai.
Kotzur joins Hilton Dubai team
Martin Kotzur has joined the Hilton team in the UAE as the director of sales for Hilton Dubai Creek and Hilton Dubai Jumeirah. He joins the Dubai-based Hilton team from the group’s regional sales office in Germany, where he was director of sales. Kotzur, who joined Hilton in 1998 from the Radisson SAS Group, led the Hilton corporate sales team for two years in Frankfurt before becoming director of regional sales.
