Hoteliers of the future graduate
The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management, part of Dubai-based luxury hospitality group Jumeirah, celebrated the graduation of its first-ever batch of students.
A graduation ceremony was held at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel’s auditorium followed by a graduation ball at Mina A’ Salam, in honour of the 15 fresh graduates. The ceremony was attended by Mohammed Al Gergawi, Dubai Holding executive chairman, Ruud Reuland, general director, Ecole hôteliére de Lausanne, Gerald Lawless, CEO, Jumeirah, and guest of honour was Maurice Flanagan, Emirates’ vice-chairman and group president.

Dubai welcomes new GM of Accor hotels
Bruno Guilloux (left), the new general manager of Accor hotels, Novotel and Ibis World Trade Centre Dubai, was introduced to Dubai at a superb dinner function in the Novotel Pool Area recently. Guilloux is making his first foray into the Middle Eastern market.
Meeting of Gulf Air regional cargo team
A two-day meeting of Gulf Air regional cargo teams from the Far East, India and Australia held at Bahrain, gave representatives from Gulf Air’s on- and off-line markets in the Asia Pacific region the chance to discuss new business strategies to be adopted for next year while reviewing 2005 business performances in these regions. They also presented ongoing business performance trends with respect to their markets.
