ATM website goes multi-lingual
Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE), organisers of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), the Middle East’s premier travel and tourism event, has upgraded the show’s website to now deliver information in nine languages, including Arabic.

The website – www.arabiantravelmarket.com – can now run in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Japanese and Arabic. “This major upgrade was implemented to better address our multi-lingual audience and to assist in the improved delivery of information across our expanding exhibitor and visitor geographic footprint,” said Chris Chackal, RTE’s group exhibition director, overseas events. The website upgrade is one in a series of initiatives introduced by RTE to further build ATM’s profile and return-on-investment potential. Others include an expanded seminar programme which will in 2006 feature 12 sessions and an extended hosted buyer programme which, will double in size and see 100 of the world’s most influential MICE buyers gather at the show. ATM 2006 will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from May 2-5.

Hotel Show 2006 set for another record year
The massive growth in regional hotel development projects will delight an already buoyant regional hospitality industry.

The Hotel Show, organised by dmg world media Dubai Ltd, one of the region’s leading exhibition companies, is due to take place from June 4 to 6, 2006, at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre. The exhibition, which showcases the very latest equipment, technology and service innovations for the hospitality industry has witnessed remarkable growth over the last six years, and is gearing up for another record year and the organisers are already anticipating a twenty per cent increase in exhibition space. According to a report by Pannel Kerr Forster (PKF) The Consulting House, one of the industry’s premier consultancies, over 80 new hotel developments will come on stream by 2008.

Horeca Kuwait gears up for second edition
Hospitality Services from Lebanon and Diplomat International from Kuwait, the organisers of Horeca Kuwait, are gearing up for the second edition of Horeca, the hospitality and foodservice event, which will take place from December 5 to 7. This second edition is a continuation of the event’s resounding success last year. Horeca 2005 has moved to Salwa Sabah Al Ahmad Conference Hall, La Marina Hotel, Salmiya Road, in order to provide for the large number of expected visitors and participants. According to the organizers, Kuwaiti hotels will double their capacity by adding more than 6,000 new rooms this year. This reflects the development of the hospitality industry in Kuwait and indicates that a larger number of participants and visitors are expected to take part in Horeca this year. Joumana Salamé, managing director of Hospitality Services, points out that the company gives immense importance to the organisation of Horeca Kuwait, given the rapid growth of the country’s tourism sector.

Emaar hits a hole in one with Saheel Golf Homes
Emaar Properties has launched its much-anticipated Saheel Golf Homes at Arabian Ranches, its premium desert development. Dubai Woodshow 2006 gears up
Industry-watchers suggest the burgeoning market for woodworking and wood-related products in Dubai will receive further boost with the introduction of Dubai Woodshow 2006, the only dedicated wood and wood machinery exhibition in the Middle East. “Besides being the financial, business and tourist hub of the Middle East, Dubai is one of the fastest growing cities in the world. Nowhere is this growth more reflected than in the city’s booming construction sector. The frenetic pace of construction activity has triggered an unprecedented demand for wood and wood-related products, transforming Dubai into a major wood importer,” said Dawood Al Shezawi, MD of Strategic Marketing & Exhibitions, the organisers of Dubai Woodshow 2006.
