Bangkok ... favourite destination

While summers is the best time to get away from the heat and take an annual vacation, lot of people prefer to do so towards the end of the year.

After all, it is the holiday season and everyone is in a mood to celebrate. However, the time one gets off is shorter, especially if you have children. Hence, tour operators make packages for short hauls only.
“This is the time when the choice destinations are Cairo, Lebanon and Jordan in the Middle East, Sri Lanka, India, Far East and Kenya in Africa. Australia is not a preferred destination for short hauls,” explained Santosh Mathew, executive operations of Bahwan Holidays, a division of Bahwan Travel Agencies.
Bahwan Holidays is offering a choice of packages to Bangkok, be it a four-day trip starting from RO149 per person or a seven-day Bangkok/Kuala Lumpur starting from RO229 per person. This includes Economy Class airfare, accommodation with breakfast, airport transfers and a half-day tour. (High season are from December 19 till January 14, 2006.)
The more adventurous can opt for a four-night live aboard diving trip in Phuket at RO344 per person that includes Economy Class airfare and transfers from Phuket hotel, four nights on board at sea, full board basis, diving gear and up to 14 open sea dives.
Among others, Mezoon Travels is also offering competitive packages. Mauritius packages start with RO334 per person on twin sharing basis for four nights. However, prices vary depending on the choice of hotels and have specific validity dates. In general, the packages include return Economy Class airfare via Dubai on Air Mauritius/Oman Air, four nights stay, meals on half board basis (buffet breakfast and dinner), airport transfers and all hotel taxes and service charges. However, airport taxes are not included.

The prices for all the three packages are per person for four nights on twin share basis and include Economy Class return airfare on Sri Lankan airlines, room tax and service charges, breakfast, return airport transfers and a half-day city tour.
