Graf takes charge at Park Hyatt Dubai
Pablo E Graf has been appointed as general manager of Park Hyatt Dubai.

With over 20 years experience with Hyatt International, Graf has overseen the opening of world-class hotels. Prior to coming to Dubai, Graf oversaw the opening of Hyatt properties in Warsaw and Delhi, serving as general manager of both properties.

Hachem is GM at Al Murooj Rotana
Hussein Hachem has been named general manager of the newly-opened Al Murooj Rotana Hotel & Suites in Dubai. Hachem, who most recently served as GM of the Jumeirah Rotana Hotel, has launched and operated many successful hotel properties across Middle East and Europe, including the Rotana in Syria and Al Ain. He has also held key management positions with Sheraton in the Middle East and Europe.

Farid joins Beach Rotana Hotel
Freddy Farid has joined the Beach Rotana Hotel & Towers, Abu Dhabi as general manager. Farid was previously GM of the Towers Rotana Hotel in Dubai. He has also worked for Hilton International in various management positions in Egypt, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, USA. Farid joined the Rotana Group in 1999 with Jumeirah Rotana Dubai.

Ebrahim joins Al Safir Hotel, Bahrain
Khalid Ebrahim has been appointed as the assistant general manager of Al Safir Hotel, Bahrain, after working as a human resources director at the Mövenpick Hotel Bahrain. He will oversee day-to-day operations of the hotel.

Malliaroudakis at InterCon Aqaba
Carlos Malliaroudakis has been appointed as executive assistant manager at InterContinental Aqaba in Jordan. With more than five years’ experience with the InterContinental Hotels Group this is Malliaroudakis’ first assignment in Jordan – he has previously worked in the hospitality sector in Greece and Lebanon.

Kausch is chairperson of IHI Hungary
Cornelia Kausch, who was GM of the five-star Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal in Budapest, Hungary, has been appointed chairperson of IHI Hungary Rt, the hotel’s owning company. IHI Hungary Rt, is a wholly owned subsidiary of International Hotel Investments, which was incorporated within the Corinthia Group to develop upscale hotels in various countries in Europe and the Mediterranean region.

Kappes at Al Bustan Palace InterCon
InterContinental Hotels Group has appointed Michael Kappes as director of sales and marketing (DoSM) at the Al Bustan Palace InterContinental, Muscat. Kappes was previously at the Regency InterContinental, Bahrain, where he held the same position.

Morena is DoSM at InterCon Doha
Trudy Bronya Moreno has been appointed as DoSM at the InterContinental Doha. Having gained experience in sales and marketing roles at properties in Malaysia, Hong Kong and China, Moreno looks forward to working in the vibrant Middle East hotel sector.

Tan moves to Shangi-La Hotel, Dubai
Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai has appointed Anny Tan as DoSM. Prior to her new appointment, Tan was the DoSM for Traders Hotel, Dubai. Tan’s career with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts dates back to 1995 when she joined Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang and Golden Sands Resorts, Penang. She has also worked for Pan Pacific Singapore.

Egami joins Regency InterCon Bahrain
The Regency InterContinental, Bahrain has appointed Masami Egami as director of sales and marketing. Egami, who started his career in the F&B department, however, went on to find his niche in sales. He has worked for the Osaka Hilton and a host of international five-star chains around the world. His last position was as director of business development at the Metropolitan Hotel, Dubai.

Lots cooking for Kasch
Michael Kasch has joined the Accor Group as the head of the F&B departments for both Novotel and Ibis at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Kasch, who served the rich and famous aboard the Queen Elizabeth 2, has also worked at the Yokohama Grand InterContinental Hotel, Conrad Hotel in Brussels, JW Marriott, Dubai, Marriott Hotel in Amman and Taj Palace, Dubai.

New faces at Conrad Cairo
Khaled Arafa has joined the Conrad Cairo team as director of convention and catering while Mohamed Abbas has been appointed as the new executive housekeeper. Khaled, a hospitality veteran with more than 20 years’ experience, has the distinction of organising mega events and conventions. Abbas, on the other hand, has more than 15 years of experience with international hotel chains.

New sales managers at InterCon Dubai
Michaela Julian, Chakib Tahri and Mohammed Albahrawy have joined InterContinental Dubai as sales managers. Julian brings to the hotel extensive experience in sales and marketing while Tahri has previously worked with Starwood Hotels, Geneva and InterContinental Geneva. On the other hand, Albahrawy has vast experience in hospitality catering.

Yukari joins Grand Hyatt Dubai
Hyatt International has appointed Yukari Isemoto-Posth as the associate director of sales for the Japanese market at Grand Hyatt Dubai. Yukari has worked in Tokyo, Jordan and spent the last four years at Jumeriah as the key account sales manager for Japan.

New appointments at Qatar Airways
Qatar Airways has appointed Laura Marsh and Joanne Clarkson as account managers to its north and south sales teams in the UK, respectively. Marsh, who has worked for Elite Vacations and also has experience with Lauda Air and Austrian Airlines, joins the airline’s Manchester-based team. Clarkson, who was previously air manager for The Global Travel Group in Chester, has also held various positions within MyTravel, joins the airline’s London office.

Gulf Air promotes Barnett
Gulf Air has promoted Jon Barnett to the position of manager, destination and leisure marketing. He was previously manager, Gulf Air Holidays. Barnett has worked in inbound and outbound tour operations within the UK and recently with P&O Travel London, before joining Gulf Air.

Changes at the top at Gulf Air
Gulf Air has appointed Rohan Alce as regional GM for Europe, Africa and America. Clive Wratten takes up Alce’s former position as UK general manager. Alce’s previous positions include head of cargo for Qatar Airways, cargo director and VP, Americas, for bmi, was previously corporate sales manager for Qantas. Maen Abdulhaleem has been appointed as general manager Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Prior to this appointment, Abdulhaleem, was Gulf Air’s GM, Lebanon, based in Beirut.
