Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, the premier manager of ultra-luxury properties around the world, is celebrating 25 years of welcoming guests with its exemplary approach to luxury travel.

The Rosewood legacy began in 1979 when Texas legend Caroline Rose Hunt purchased and restored the historical Sheppard King Mansion in Dallas and opened it as The Mansion on Turtle Creek, A Rosewood Hotel. Since then, Rosewood has been devoted to creating hotels unlike any other in the world by bestowing on each a one-of-a-kind ambience and style.
Whether located in the heart of a vibrant city or on a secluded tropical isle, each is designed to enhance the guest’s experience by reflecting the location’s culture, history and geography, coupled with providing exceptional service, a luxury product and incredible attention to detail. This distinction has elevated the Rosewood collection into the upper echelons of destinations for sophisticated travellers. Today, the Rosewood portfolio includes 11 of the finest properties worldwide including the following:
In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh, a city that gracefully melds tradition with style, is Al Faisaliah Hotel, A Rosewood Hotel. Since its opening in 2000, the hotel has played host to an array of royal and international dignitaries and has set new standards of quality and personalised service. It features beautifully appointed and spacious accommodations with the latest in-room technology and the Middle East’s only dedicated 24-hour butler service. Highlighting its culinary selection is undoubtedly The Globe – an amazing 24m diametre crystal sphere perched high atop the Al Faisaliah tower 275m above the city. This unique setting affords diners a striking vista across Riyadh and beyond. The hotel is an integral part of the Al Faisaliah Centre, which encompasses the landmark Al Faisaliah office tower, designer shopping mall, and Prince Sultan’s Grand Hall which can accommodate weddings and conferences for up 4,000 guests.
Building on the success in the region, Rosewood will open Corniche, A Rosewood Hotel in Jeddah in late 2005. Overlooking the Red Sea, its stunning and individually designed 127 guestrooms and suites will offer some of the most spectacular views in the Kingdom. The innovative dining options are expected to become the most sought-after society destinations. Additionally, guests will enjoy Rosewood’s renowned 24-hour butler service, state-of-the-art entertainment and business solutions, and access to Jeddah’s only rooftop health club with a panoramic outdoor pool overlooking the sea and the city.
In Japan, in the heart of Tokyo’s vibrant Ginza District, lies Hotel Seiyo Ginza, A Rosewood Hotel. Earning numerous accolades as one of Japan’s best hotels, this luxurious haven of modern comfort is ideal for both business and pleasure. Its 77 elegantly appointed guestrooms and suites reflect the sophistication, ease and convenience of a private residence. Experienced personal concierge services and 24-hour butlers meet the needs of discerning guests, and four internationally acclaimed restaurants offer a variety of dining options.
Across the ocean in North America is a timeless classic, The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel, which has been an integral part of Manhattan’s Upper East Side since 1930. Brilliantly positioned on Madison Avenue with sweeping views of Central Park and just blocks away from the Guggenheim Museum and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Carlyle is a showcase of great art and a sanctuary of refined taste. Often a home away from home for leaders in world affairs, business, society and entertainment, guests feel truly ensconced in an elegant, residential atmosphere which includes a discreet staff as well as extraordinary dining and entertainment. The quintessential New York experience.
Nestled off the coast of Antigua in the Caribbean, Jumby Bay, A Rosewood Resort is the perfect island hideaway. Situated on its own 300-acre private island and accessible only by boat, this idyllic, fully inclusive resort casts a spell of serene enchantment. A naturalist’s haven, the island features three white sand beaches and lush landscapes with rare tropical flowers and stately palms. With its 40 suites and 11 villas spread across nearly a third of the island, guests feel enveloped in their own secluded retreat and indulged by the expert service and savory cuisine.
Dramatically located at the tip of the Baja Peninsula in Los Cabos, Mexico, lies the sensual Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort. As one of the most acclaimed resorts, Las Ventanas has redefined luxury and pampering, reaching out with special touches that are the hallmark of refined hospitality. It captivates guests with expansive suites featuring terraces, fireplaces and telescopes for sea- and star-gazing, a world-class spa, inspired cuisine and an intoxicating ambience. Other highlights include a ceviche and tequila bar, a Director of Romance and access to nearby world-class golf courses. To complete a triumvirate in Mexico, Rosewood plans to open two more resorts there in the next two years.
And in early 2006, Rosewood will further enrich its collection with Acqualina, A Rosewood Resort, an oceanfront masterpiece in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, just north of Miami. Graced with panoramic vistas of the sea and Miami’s glittering skyline, its 51-storey Mediterranean-inspired tower will feature a 97-room boutique resort and 188 lavish residences. Guests will enjoy an elegant Italian restaurant, a two-storey, 25,000sq ft oceanfront spa, three swimming pools, tropical garden areas and a private beach club.
