For the newly-rebranded Golden Tulip Al Jazira Hotel the name change isn’t just a cosmetic surface skim.
The property has been through a multi-million-dirham renovation that puts it right into international four-star-deluxe league.
“A franchising tie-up with the Golden Tulip group has now been integrated throughout the hotel,” says general manager Haitham Murad. “From the motto, ‘International standards, local flavours,’ to adopting manual standards for service and support functions to accessibility to the general reservations network, we’re in tune with the brand’s philosophy down to its values and mission statement.”
With completely redone interiors, improved levels of service, added facilities, new restaurants and a new reservations system, the hotel has everything going for it. And located right on the border between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, half-way out of each place, makes it the perfect home away from home.
“We are not competing with hotels in the local market anymore, we are competing on an international level, both within the GCC and in such key markets as Europe, to promote Abu Dhabi as a destination. We want to be the leading four-star deluxe resort in the UAE.”
The Golden Tulip Al Jazira hosts 170 well-furnished guest rooms in the main hotel and beachfront two-, three- and four-bedroom bungalows with first class leisure facilities, a private beach, outdoor swimming pools, jacuzzi, health and fitness centre, jogging track, extensive water sports, a diving centre and tennis and squash courts.
The resort serves a variety of fine food across several new and renovated restaurants, including the Brasserie, the Antalia (Turkish cuisine) and Dalma restaurants and the hideaway Café de Baileys. The property’s infrastructure has also been beefed up, including air-conditioning, sewage, security systems and real kitchen setup.
“We also have several new facilities for families. We’ve renovated our children’s playgrounds, upgraded our kids’ rooms, brought in kids’ motorbikes and offer babysitting free of charge subject to availability. We are already considered a family resort because of the accommodation we offer, we are now upgrading that appeal,” adds Murad.
