“Wine and Dine in French countryside”, “Sahara trip in Libya”, and “Arctic Adventures in Finland” are some of topics that will be presented in travel seminars in ITE this year.
In addition, attendants can also learn about chartering a cruise in the Mediterranean or cruising around the world, cultural tour in Latin America, driving tour in New Zealand, Safari and eco-tours in South Africa, etc.
Two such up-market seminars specially for members of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) and the Hong Kong Medical Association (HKMA) were held recently in order to cater for the travel needs of members of these two prestigious professional organisations.
“Exotic” and “Uniqueness” are the main criteria when deciding on the programme, with cost being a secondary consideration. Majority of speakers have being nominated by the relevant national tourism boards for professionalism and accuracy of the latest information. Attendants can also visit the Travel Expo before and/or after the seminars.
“Findings from survey made in the last event of ITE and extensive discussions indicated the growing needs for such up-market travel seminars, especially seasoned and sophisticated travelers often take vacations for experiences too. We are particularly thankful for the supports by these prestigious organisations,” said KS Tong, managing director of TKS, which organises ITE.
In addition, there were other new destinations for long haul and niche market travellers. For example, Libya from North Africa, Romania and Uzbekistan from Europe and the first ever Latin American Pavilion with exhibitors from Chile, Cuba, Mexico and Peru. Besides, there’ll be more new travel routes and destination seminars focusing on different themes, cultural performances from overseas and interesting exhibits and displays by exhibitors in ITE. Far larger than its previous editions, the Travel Expo this year features some 500 international exhibitors from 50 countries and territories, with 40 official pavilions / participations by tourism boards from all over the World.
