Major renovation on the card for Sheraton Doha

Sheraton Doha Hotel & Resort will have a new inside and outside look by the end of the year. Several plans in restructuring the 23-year-old facilities have been confirmed by the owning company, Qatar National Hotels (QNH).

The first and second floor, including 99 rooms and suites, will undergo a total revamp during the period of the second of July until November 2005. Hirsch & Bender, the prominent American interior designer, who also was in charge of previous renovations at Sheraton Doha, uses latest create luxury guest rooms. With state-of-the-art decoration and the latest technological equipment, the new rooms will be inviting for business travellers and leisure guests alike. Doha Sheraton completed the latest refurbishment of 111 rooms by November 2004 and installed wireless and wired high speed internet access throughout the whole property, including guest rooms and suites, all 26 meeting and banqueting facilities, the entire hotel lobby, the health and recreation club, the beach and the swimming pool area.
A typical modern Irish Pub will be established in the former bowling area on the ground floor. This project is planned on being in operation by the year 2006.
Further, the main kitchen will also be renovated. This step is also planned to be completed by 2006. Gerhard Foltin, general manager confirms that Sheraton Doha will offer a brand new Spa centre to its future customers as another luxury feature for the prestigious hotel and resort. The modern design and the latest treatment programmes will be available for club members and hotel guests. Hand in hand with this project goes the construction of a sportive swimming pool. Together with the spacious swimming facilities, all landscaping of the garden will be remodeled. Also, the pool restaurant will get a different look.
In addition to that, the mezzanine floor will appear in a new look and feature only smart meeting rooms, including built in overhead projectors and up to date computers. By August, all outdoor painting work will be finished. The main building, as well as the Health Club and the meeting facilities will appear in a fresh white colour.
