Royal chef Robinson at Grosvenor House
The former head chef to HRH The Prince of Wales has recently joined Grosvenor House.
Gary Robinson will head up the hotel’s flagship restaurant Mezzanine, following seven years in the royal household. As chef patron at Mezzanine, Robinson will be fusing the finest of British cuisine with a French flair.
Record-holder Laffargue at Sheraton Doha
Bruno Laffargue is the new pastry chef at Sheraton Doha Hotel & Resort. The 35-year-old Frenchman brings along 20 years of experience working in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Sheraton Doha’s new pastry chef realised a Guinness Book of Records attempt in 2001 by creating the tallest wedding cake in the world called Croquembouche.
Chef Khalil joins InterCon Doha
The InterContinental Doha has appointed Georges Khalil as its executive chef. Most recently head chef at the InterContinental Phoenicia Beirut, he was in charge of 12 kitchens in the hotel. He joined the InterContinental Group as assistant executive Chef at Le Vendome InterContinental Hotel Beirut.
Chef Brandtner at Mövenpick Bur Dubai
Chef Armin Brandtner from Austria has joined Mövenpick Dubai as executive chef. Chef Brandtner was previously with Restaurant Falkenburg in Germany as an independent entrepeneur and later became executive chef at Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof, Germany, and executive sous chef at the Inter Continental Berlin.
Chef Andrea joins Splendido
Chef Andrea Magnano has joined as Chef de Cuisine at Ritz Carlton, Dubai’s busy Italian restaurant, Splendido. Chef Andrea has experience in serving Italian cooking in Switzerland, Claridge’s in London and in Barcelona. He now brings his brand of modern Italian cooking to Dubai.
International recognition for Chef Amann
Executive chef at the Al Bustan Palace InterContinental Hotel, Muscat, Jean-Luc Amann, has been accepted by the Maîtres Cuisiniers de France, the French Master Chefs Association, for his world-class culinary skills.
Chef Wahl joins Chedi Muscat
The Chedi Muscat hotel has appointed Enrico Wahl as the new executive chef. Chef Wahl has previously worked with Anton Mosiman an exclusive members-only private dining club, and with The Ritz Hotel in London.

Sarah Lumley has joined The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai, as spa director. She was previously with the popular The Ritz-Carlton, Doha where she made her mark for her knowledge of the beauty industry.
Azzam joins Hertz Kuwait
Hertz Kuwait has expanded its management team by appointing Richard Azzam as group manager. Azzam brings with him over 20 years of car rental and transportation experience. Azzam started his career in various posts, including the position of Avis country manager and as a general manager for Key Rent A Car in KSA.
