Palm Jumeirah wins Arda’s award
Nakheel announced that The Palm, Jumeriah has received global recognition for its leading design and exceptional vision, from the most prestigious international awards ceremony for resort destinations worldwide, The American Resort Development Association (Arda).

Commenting on this honour Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, executive chairman, Nakheel, said, “Nakheel is delighted that the outstanding iconic concept of The Palm, Jumeriah has been recognised by a global audience.”

Avis celebrates 25 years in Bahrain
Avis Bahrain was recently awarded the “The Most Outstanding Service Award” on its occasion of completeing 25 years in Bahrain by Avis Europe PLC at its worldwide meet in Brussels. The award was presented by Murray Hennessey, chief excecutive Avis Europe, to Abdul Hameed Al Kooheji, general manager, Avis Bahrain. According to Kooheji, the main reason why Avis Bahrain is one of the most preffered car rental in Bahrain is because of its excellent personalised customer service.

Recognition for National Car Rental
National Car Rental’s hotel/airport transport service for the InterContinental Hotel in Dubai, has been voted one of the best in the world by leading travel authority Mary Gostelow. A dedicated fleet of luxury Range Rovers complete with uniformed chauffeurs ensures transition to hotel and airport is as smooth and comfortable as possible for business and leisure customers of the hotel. Customers returning their vehicle to Dubai airport will be promised an even swifter service as the company shortly starts to trial hand-held check-in facilities.

Pearl-Qatar in the news
The Pearl-Qatar, the $2.5 billion island being reclaimed offshore the coast of Doha, is to have the world’s longest, purpose-built and singly-operated retail destination. “One million sq ft of retail will surround Porto Arabia, the island’s main marina, ensuring that this will become a destination-within-a-destination,” said Nick Bashkiroff, development director of The Pearl-Qatar. “This will be an upscale retail, food and beverage and leisure destination which will span the perimeter of Porto Arabia, which will also be an international yachting hub.”
