Beauty show is a sell out

Organisers of the region’s premier cosmetics and beauty trade event have announced that this year’s show is a sell out.

The event, Beauty World Middle East and Wellness & Spas Middle East, organised by Epoc Messe Frankfurt and sponsored by Lufthansa, opens at Dubai Airport Expo from May 2-4 from 10am to 6pm.
With the event established as a focal point for the entire industry, exhibitors will be arriving from all over the world. In fact, this year’s show has notched up 550 exhibitors from over 40 countries – the biggest and brightest yet.
Its success is largely attributed to the region’s demographics, with a population of young, fashionable trendsetters with high disposable income.
“In its 10 years, Beauty World has tripled in size and proven to be an invaluable trading platform for all buyers and suppliers in the beauty industry.
Visitors will see a wide range of product lines including the latest brand name cosmetics, personal care, perfumes, trade products for salons and items for the fast growing wellness and spas sector,” said Diana Taylor, Epoc’s exhibition manager.
Consumption of cosmetics and fragrances in the Gulf States is one of the highest per capita in the world with the average purchase estimated to be in the region of US$317 per head.
According to Taylor, “The Middle East is a magnet for beauty and personal care suppliers where growth is hard to find elsewhere, especially in comparison to mature markets like Europe and US where growth is modest or flat.”
Other factors have also come into play when looking at the opportunities in the region’s beauty-care market.  Affluence has brought freedom and choice and ignited a fire storm of shopping fanned by the youthful and image conscious population who want to look and feel good, whether its designer labels, cosmetics or fragrances, all of which are part of an everyday repertoire of style accessories.
For the second time, Beauty World Middle East and Wellness & Spas Middle East will include a new Wellness & Spas section embracing the new trends and ways to service needs of local buyers.
This year’s edition promises to be the biggest and most exciting to date.
