The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) and the MeCAR Spec Racer Ford Series announced the 2005 MeCAR race schedule and the agreement for MeCAR to be located at the award-winning circuit beginning immediately.

Ford Middle East, AlMoayyed Motors and Yokohama support the Racer Ford series. MeCAR races into 2005 after a successful year in Dubai and Bahrain, highlighted by five races during the GT and F3 Events at the BIC. MeCAR managing director Peter Heintzelman said, “The 2005 schedule will include 19 races over 10 events, including an endurance race, a return to the GT Festival, races with the Mini Challenge and a robust testing schedule.”
Martin Whitaker, general manager of the BIC, added, “We are pleased to welcome MeCAR as an on-site partner, importantly adding to our race series portfolio which further ensures that we are the Home of Motorsports in the Middle East. The Spec Racer Fords thrilled our fans at both the GT and F3 events with their close racing. The series has demonstrated that it is a most accessible way to go circuit racing in the region so we look forward to seeing many new drivers in the future. “
