IT isn’t just a cosmetic change of name at the newly-rebranded Golden Tulip Al Jazira Hotel and Resort, the Abu Dhabi property has been through a multi-million-dirham renovation and is being repositioned for the local and international markets.

Said general manager Haitham Murad, who has spearheaded the property’s revival, “The tie-up means the culture of the Golden Tulip brand has now been integrated throughout the hotel. From the motto, ‘international standards, local flavours’, to adopting manual standards for service and support functions to accessibility to the general reservations network, we’re in tune with the brand’s philosophy down to its values and mission statement.”
Added Hans Kennedie, president & CEO of Golden Tulip Hotels, Inns & Resorts, “I am very satified with our development in the Middle East. Adding this beautifully, newly renovated Golden Tulip Al Jazira Hotel and Resort to our fast-growing Middle East portfolio gives us yet another strong destination in the region.”
Murad calls the new franchise agreement is a tremendous opportunity to reach new dimensions in its daily operations and sales activities. “We are not competing with hotels in the local market anymore, we are competing on an international level, to promote Abu Dhabi as a destination. With our stated aim to be the leading four-star deluxe resort in the UAE, we are putting into place a plan to be aggressive in the international market, especially in the source countries of Germany, Russia, Switzerland and the new emerging markets of Italy and the US.” To that end, the hotel will have a presence at several major exhibitions, including ITB, MITT, WTM and, of course, ATM.
Golden Tulip Al Jazira hosts 170 well-furnished guest rooms in the main hotel and front beach bungalows with first class leisure facilities, a private beach, outdoor swimming pools, jacuzzi, health and fitness centre, jogging track, water sports, a diving centre and tennis and squash courts. The resort serves a variety of cuisines across several new and renovated restaurants, including the Brasserie on Zero, the Antalia Turkish cuisine and Dalma restaurants, the Al Andaleeb Terrace and the hideaway Café de Baileys. The hotel’s infrastructure has also been beefed up, including air-conditioning, sewage, security systems and real kitchen setup.
Golden Tulip Hotels, Inns and Resort is a privately owned franchise company with its head office in Amersfoort, and has a combined portfolio comprises over 43,000 rooms approximately 390 hotels. It is connected with Goldres, the worldwide reservation which is linked with Amadeus, Galileo and other major reservation system.
