French hotel giant Accor is on track with its expansion plans in the region with the opening of the first Mercure Grand Hotel in the Kingdom of Bahrain set for the first quarter of this year.

Since Accor launched its first establishment in the 1970s, the group has expanded within the GCC region with remarkable developments that include brands such as Mercure, Sofitel, Novotel and Ibis. All of the 715 Mercure hotels that exist in over 45 countries worldwide have the characteristics of regional pride and quality of service. The new Mercure Grand Hotel Seef in Bahrain is no exception to that – thus it is truly unique and incomparable, resonating perfectly with its privileged location ideally situated in Seef district in the heart of the Bahraini capital, Manama.
As in all Accor hotels, the new Mercure Grand Hotel Seef will display an unwavering commitment to cater for its guests’ every need. With an inimitable décor that is rich in Arabian heritage, the ambience is indeed extraordinary and promises to be an eyeopener into the true meaning of quality service and outstanding accommodation facilities all at highly competitive prices.
“The addition of Mercure Grand Hotel Seef to our spectrum of premium projects consolidates our progressive strategy to bring only the best into the Kingdom. Thus, the latest addition to the Kingdom’s hospitality sector is a clear indication of Bahrain’s rightful place on the global arena,” said Mohammed Jassim Al Zayani, proprietor of Mercure Grand Hotel, Bahrain, and renowned Bahraini businessman.
Once operational, the new Mercure Grand Hotel will accommodate 72 senior suites, 48 family suites and one penthouse – all well appointed with a private kitchenette and breathtaking panoramic and city views. Two high-level executive meeting rooms have been equipped with state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment ideally suited for business meetings and conferences.
The Mercure Grand Hotel also has an exquisite restaurant and a café, the Neyran Resturant and the Diwan Café, along with splendid bar lounges like the Casa Bar, the Sama Pool Bar & Terrace and the Basha Lounge, all catering to a variety of preferences where experienced chefs create their own elaborate menus offering authentic cuisines.
With over a 100 employees that are professionally trained to welcome, attend and serve its guests, Mercure Grand Hotel aims at consolidating its position as a premium concept hotel.
With 150,000 associates in 140 countries, Accor is the European leader and one of the world's largest groups in travel, tourism and corporate services. As part of a strategy to focus on key emerging markets, Accor has expanded further in the Middle East region. The French-headquartered company has established global corporate agreements with more than 200 multi-national companies, many of which have a Middle East presence and this customer base will be mined to grow new business.
The latest addition to the group, the Mercure Grand Hotel Bahrain, is in line with Accor’s commitment and places the group well on track to increase the number of rooms operated by Accor in the Arabian Peninsula to 7,300 by the end of the year.
