QNHC emerges as market leader

Sheraton Doha Hotel & Resort … landmark property

QATAR National Hotels Company’s (QNHC) strength in the Qatari hotels and tourist sector is illustrated in particular by its possession of a significant percentage of the higher-quality hotels rooms in the country and its ownership of many of Qatar’s high-profile leisure facilities.

The company’s activities are to establish, own, and manage hotels and tourist related projects and it has firmly established itself as one of the leading hotel specialist companies in the Gulf region.
Originally the owner of prestige hotel properties managed by internationally-renowned chains, the company has now established its Qatar Hospitality division, which manages properties under the ‘Merweb’ name. The first hotel to take the name, Al Sadd Merweb, is in one of the capitals most thriving shopping and commercial districts. Recognising the growing requirements for facilities to host weddings, banquests and other celebratory events, QNHC has also added an independent ‘Wedding Hall’ to its facilities.
Increasing activities also resulted in QNHC’s acquisition, some years ago, of the prestigious Doha Club, thereby expanding the company’s area of operations to include the recreation and leisure industry. This new experience allowed Qatar National Hotels Company to strengthen its business interests and develop its expertise and its reputation for quality. Utilising this wealth of knowledge and experience, the company further diversified its activities to create new areas of business, including a Contract Catering Services Division and a Tourists’ Transport Division.
The company currently leases Palm Tree Island in Doha Bay from the ministry of municipal affairs and agriculture, developing and managing the leisure facilities on the island, which include beach and splash pool, children’s rides and games, restaurant and cafe facilities, as well as the dhow service to and from the island.
The company’s expertise and know-how is provided by highly-trained, professional management and staff – an expertise gained over many years, developed by experts, refined by application, and streamlined for adaptability.
