SIXT Rent-A-Car in the UAE plans to double its fleet in a year and has appointed Mark Smitherman as the new general manager to achieve this target.
Smitherman brings with him a new company mission of providing affordable luxury and the best service in the UAE, the company said. With extensive experience in vehicle rental, contract hire and asset finance, he brings has a wealth of experience from his previous employer General Electric in London.
He intends to upgrade the standards of Sixt. Within 12 months the fleet of Sixt should double in size to around 300 cars, he said. He also plans to introduce a customer satisfaction scheme allowing him to monitor the effectiveness of the improved Sixt. With the most exclusive fleet of rental cars in the world – made up entirely of Mercedes-Benz – the vision of Sixt is to provide luxurious cars at affordable prices, he said.
“The direction Sixt is taking over the coming months is represented by our new mission: ‘luxury you can afford’,” said Smitherman.
As a division of Gargash Enterprises, Mercedes-Benz General Distributor for DaimlerChrysler Middle East in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, Sixt is able to offer luxury vehicles at unbeatable prices. There are 140 cars available for hire, including the latest models of Mercedes, and all are less than a year old.
