The Hotel Show, the Middle East's leading hotel supplies exhibition which was held in Dubai last month, has been purchased by dmg Index Exhibitions Ltd, part of dmg World Media, the global exhibitions, publications and new media business.

The acquisition, which guarantees the event's continued growth and development, was confirmed by the signing of an agreement between dmg Index Exhibitions Ltd, and the current management, Streamline Marketing, who will continue to run the show on behalf of the new owners.

"This is excellent news for the future of the exhibition," said Joanne Evans, director of Streamline Marketing.

"It now comes under the umbrella of one of the largest exhibition organisers in the Middle East, with the significant added benefit that it will enjoy highly specialised global support.

"At the same time, our continued role as event organisers means consistency for the large number of exhibitors already taking part in the show, and enjoying the benefits."

Bernard Walsh, managing director of dmg Index Exhibitions Ltd, said: "The Hotel Show joins our portfolio of major Middle East exhibitions, and we are committed to ensuring its continued development, both through investment, and the substantial backing of our parent company, which has extensive worldwide experience, and unrivalled connections in the exhibitions industry."

Among the major events organised by dmg Index Exhibitions Ltd, Index is the Middle East's premier trade event for the furnishing and interiors industry, and The Big 5 is the largest trade show for the construction industry in the Arabian Gulf.

With more than 20 businesses operating out of 33 offices in locations from China to Brazil, dmg World Media is a subsidiary of The Daily Mail & General Trust plc, a FTSE 100 company with extensive media interests.
