A floating weekend dream
THE Casino Goa, onboard the M/V Caravela, is offering two-night-three-day packages at hotels around the state, including the Ramada Caravela Beach Resort, the Fort Aguada Beach Resort, the Goa Marriott Resort and the Park Hyatt Resort.
Package cost per person begins at $229 for twin-sharing accommodation. The packages run through to September.
The ship is India’s first and only cruising vessel, complete with fine dining restaurant, bar, entertainment, live gaming casino operated by Casinos Austria, with standard games such as roulette, poker, blackjack, and baccarat.
“People from the Gulf region feel more secure in India than they do in some places around the world,” Sunder G Advani, chairman and MD, Ramada Caravela Beach Resort and the man behind Casino Goa, told TTN. “Even if you don’t go to the casino, the Caravela is also a great way to take in Goa on the water. It’s the perfect weekend break.”
The five-star deluxe Ramada resort at Colva features 200 rooms, including six seaside villas and four suites. Besides the individual travellers, says Advani, the hotel is now seeing people come down to host events such as weddings at the resort. “We’ve had two weddings from Dubai alone in the past few months.”
