A full programme of business seminars will be held alongside this year's Mediterranean Trade Fair to be held in Cairo in September, organiser Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) has announced.
The seminars have industry support from a number of organisations including lastmin-ute.com, CIMPA (the Connected International Meeting Professionals Association), the International Tourism Institute of Switzerland in conjunction with PATA (the Pacific Asia Tourism Association) and Green Globe, RTE said.
It said the programme will begin with a seminar conducted by lastminute.com on September 24 which will examine the impact of the worldwide web and e-commerce on the travel industry and the benefits that can be gained from these developments.
On September 25, there will be two seminars presented by CIMPA which will look at the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) market.
Following the seminars, there will be a presentation of the CIMPA Awards.
These awards are voted by CIMPA members and will be given in eight categories including Best Destination for Events, Best Hotel for Incentives and Best Airline for Groups.
On September 26, the programme's focus will turn to the environment with a number of initiatives organised by Green Globe. One of the seminars will look at how to save money, improve customer appeal and help reduce the impact of global warming using the Green Globe model.
The seminars will be free of charge to all delegates.
MTF will be held from September 24-26 at the Cairo International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
