Doha ... the fun has just begin

THE Qatar Summer Wonders (QSW) festival, which runs from July 1 to the end of this month, promises plenty of shopping bargains, as well as a whole host of family-oriented entertainment.

One of the main attractions of QSW is an adapted version of the famous international Holiday on Ice show, called Celebrations which, apart from a professional international cast, will feature the cuddly QSW mascot, an Arabian gazelle called Bshara.
A celebration of life, and a fantasy exploration of the different ways people around the world express their joy, Celebration combines skilled skaters and artistic choreography, passionate music and dazzling costumes, as well as spectacular special effects in a performance, which promises to entertain the entire family.
Although there are plenty of carnival-style games and rides, the largest attraction at Bshara Village takes visitors on a guided and interactive voyage in time from the prehistoric era, through the land of the Pharaohs, to Doha 'Now and Then' and ending in a futuristic world of space travel and exploration. In the ‘Prehistoric’ zone, the kids are actually able to ‘dig’ for dinosaur bones! In addition, Bshara Village Fun Fair will offer around 15 amusement rides and skill games for children to enjoy.
What’s more, five of Doha’s shopping malls will be participating in QSW, with entertainers roaming around, as well as special discounts, sales and prize draws. Stilt walkers, clowns, face painters, jugglers and a host of attractions will be at City Center-Doha, The Mall, Landmark Mall, Hyatt Plaza and LuLu Hypermarket throughout the month-long festival. Prize draws at the shopping malls will offer a total of QR2 million throughout the month, with shoppers qualifying for an entry ticket for every QR50 they spend at participating outlets.
