Renaissance Hotel Dubai to get facelift

THE Renaissance Hotel, Dubai has seen a steady growth in terms of brand awareness in the region (being only the second Renaissance in the Middle East), according to general manager, Francisco Giles.

“In terms of occupancy we have seen an increase of seven per cent from 2001-2002 and forecast a further increase of five per cent from 2002-2003. The future looks bright even though the supply continues to increase, Dubai still manages to generate enough demand through conventions and other promotions to attract the business traveler as well as tourists” .
The hotel is offering special rates to promote its exclusive club floor where guests stay for three nights and get the fourth night free for Dh375 for a single and Dh425 for a double room per night. “As a five-star business hotel, Renaissance Dubai is the preferred hotel for  meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions,” added Giles. “We have 13 functions rooms and all the facilities a business traveller expects in any modern hotel today. The hotel has a multi-cuisine outlet, Spice Island, which is to adopt a trendy new look and its very own bar, a soft refurbishment will be undertaken commencing in April 2004, Harry’s Place a pub/bistro with DJ seven nights a week and various theme nights, Garden Café our all-day dining restaurant and The Aquarium Lounge, a place to relax and  enjoy a cup of coffee with friends. Garden Café and the Aquarium Lounge will be fully renovated during summer.”
Over the next six months the hotel management will concentrate on the renovations of the food and beverage outlets on the Lobby Level starting with Spice Island. “The hotel caters to the individual business traveller, convention attendees and we also have our fair share of tourists,” added Giles.
Not surprising then that Renaissance Dubai Hotel won five regional awards for the year  2003 within Marriott Hotels in the Middle East – these awards were for Market Excellence, Outstanding Achievements for Reservations Shop Calls, Outstanding Achievements for Group Shop Calls, Revenue Management Leader of the Year and Individual Property Sales & Marketing Team of the Year.
