Emirates airline is launching non-stop services from Dubai to Shanghai and Glasgow on April 10, Vienna on May 1 and New York on June 1.

Last year it launched services to Auckland, Moscow and Brisbane, and already this year to Lagos and Accra.

VIENNA: GREAT OPPORTUNITY
The new Emirates route to Vienna will give Austrian air travellers and cargo shippers direct access to Dubai, a major connecting hub for cities throughout Africa, Indian sub-continent and Asia-Pacific, said a top official.
The Dubai-based carrier will start with four non-stop flights a week to the Austrian capital from May 1, rising to daily from May 15. The new route – which will start barely 20 days after the launch of two other new Emirates services to Glasgow and Shanghai – will make Vienna the 77th destination in a route network that now already serves 74 cities in 52 countries.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Emirates’ executive vice-president commercial operations worldwide, said: “This new Emirates route will give Austrian air travellers and cargo shippers direct access to Dubai, one of the world’s most dynamic and fast-growing centres for tourism and commerce.”  Europe is increasingly important for Emirates, which has earned more than 250 quality awards from customers since it was set up in 1985. Austria also will benefit from increased inbound tourism and trade, as well as from Emirates direct investment in Austria’s economy through its new Vienna airport and city centre offices, and the new jobs created by those.

GLASGOW: STIMULATING GROWTH
Emirates, which will launch a new non-stop route on April 10 from Dubai to Glasgow, Scotland, will operate a two-class Airbus A330-200 with 34 Business and 251 Economy Class seats. The flights will provide more choice for customers from Scotland by offering not just a more direct route to the Gulf, but excellent connections to Emirates’ extensive network of destinations beyond Dubai.
More than half of the 74 cities in 52 countries which Emirates currently serves are in the Middle East, Africa, Indian Subcontinent and Asia-Pacific. For instance, travellers from Glasgow to Sydney will be able to reach their destination with just two non-stop flights.
Flight EK025 will leave Dubai daily at 7.30ams to reach Glasgow at 12.25pm the same day. The return flight EK026 will depart from Glasgow at 2pm, reaching Dubai at 12.30am the next day (all times local).
“Scottish passengers are about to discover what the Emirates experience is all about - from their own principal airport,” said Al Ghaith. “‘They will be able to enjoy first hand the quality of service which has made Emirates a resounding success, as they fly non-stop to and from the most cosmopolitan and exciting city in the Gulf region.”

SHANGHAI: EXCITING DESTINATION
The new non-stop flights to the largest Chinese city, to be launched on April 10. Initially, from April 10, Emirates will operate three flights a week between the two cities, on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Daily flights will start from May 15, offering even more convenient travel options between the two metropolises. Flight EK302 will take off from Dubai International Airport at 2.15am and land at Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport at 2.55pm. The return flight EK303 from Shanghai will depart on the same day at 11:55pm and arrive in Dubai at 5.10am the next morning. All times are local.
The new services will be provide the first-ever direct air passage between Dubai and mainland China, providing business and leisure travellers at both ends with the first-ever direct air passage to the UAE and convenient access to two of world’s fastest growing markets today.
Emirates is glad to offer our customers yet another exciting destination,” said Richard Vaughan, Emirates’ senior vice-president commercial operations, East Asia and Australasia. “Shanghai is not only a huge and growing international commerce centre, but also a buzzing hive for arts and cultural activities, making it an attractive destination for both business and leisure travellers.”
