Regenerative escape at Rosewood Amaala

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, a global leader in luxury travel and lifestyle experiences, has been selected by Red Sea Global, a responsible multi-project developer, to manage Rosewood Amaala in one of the world’s most pristine environments, the Red Sea Region of Saudi Arabia.

An area considered to be at the centre of the world’s most ambitious regenerative tourism projects, the Red Sea is situated along the country’s west coast and is home to some of the most diverse and delicate natural environments. Rosewood Amaala will be part of Red Sea Global’s Amaala destination, an integrated wellness haven.

Rosewood Amaala will be surrounded by the world’s fourth-largest reef and the scenic Hijazi mountains. Red Sea Global is aiming to not only protect the environment, but to also enhance the natural ecosystems actively through regeneration and destination development. Rosewood Amaala will focus on the well-being of its guests, the community, and the native flora and fauna – all while recognising the integral connections between the three.

The Set Collection enters Mexico

The Set Collection announces that one of Mexico’s most lauded hotels, Hotel Esencia, is joining the Set Collection as its first member hotel in the Americas.

Hotel Esencia is a majestic 50-acre estate at the midpoint between Tulum and Playa del Carmen in Mexico.  Originally built as a private hideaway for the Italian duchess, on the most beautiful beach of the Mayan Riviera, the mansion later became a hotel. A new chapter began in 2014 with the arrival of a new owner, Hollywood producer and entrepreneur Kevin Wendle.

The estate’s provenance as a place of leisure for nobility is the guiding inspiration for its modern reimagining – this is a place where baby sea turtles emerge on the sandy beach below, while paintings by Picasso and Eduardo Santiere hang inside. The Main House is the hotel’s centrepiece, around which footpaths lead to just 47 white-painted suites and 4 villas overlooking the Caribbean, where guests enjoy both stunning design and complete privacy.
