Hilton Dubai Al Seef community is set to transform this summer as its cluster of three Hilton hotels reposition themselves to provide Chinese customers with exceptional services beyond brand standards.

This announcement comes as Dubai looks to re-tap into the Chinese tourism market in 2023, with Chinese arrivals reaching 989,000 in 2019, making China the fifth-largest source market.

The three hotels - Canopy by Hilton Dubai Al Seef, Al Seef Heritage Hotel Dubai, Curio Collection by Hilton, and Hampton by Hilton Dubai Al Seef - are owned by Dubai Holding and managed by Hilton. The cluster of hotels, which opened in December 2019, comprises 540 rooms and boasts a prime location in the heart of the old city.

To support this new direction, Gajendra Sharma has been named as the new cluster General Manager, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his time at Hilton Wen’An and Hollick Hotel Wen’An in China.

During his tenure, Sharma achieved remarkable financial results, including a significant boost in revenue and net operating profit (NOP), a substantial increase in gross operating profit (GOP) during the pandemic, and enhanced the hotels’ positioning by elevating their Revenue Generation Index (RGI). Sharma also played a crucial role in developing the hotels’ staff, including cultivating a Director of Operations in 2018 and currently working on the Commercial Director.

Dubai Tourism’s efforts to attract Chinese tourists include visa-free travel for Chinese nationals and a Chinese language website, as well as partnerships with Chinese travel agencies and media outlets. As part of the “China Ready” strategy, the hotels will offer tailored experiences to Chinese tourists, further enhancing Dubai’s appeal as a destination.

With Sharma at the helm, the cluster of hotels is set to take Dubai’s hospitality industry to new heights, while also supporting the city’s efforts to diversify its tourism industry.
