Kerzner to manage desert resort Bab Al Shams

Kerzner International Holdings, the owner of Atlantis Resorts and Residences has launched Rare Finds, a diverse collection of resorts, under which it has assumed management of Bab Al Shams, a desert resort Dubai owned by Meydan.

The resort will close for an extensive reimagination between May 2022 and early 2023, reopening as part of Rare Finds. The extensive reimagination of the iconic desert resort will introduce a completely renewed aesthetic whilst maintaining the resort’s authentic equestrian identity.

In keeping with Rare Find’s focus on discovering a destination in a truly authentic way, Bab al Shams will offer an endless selection of expertly curated itineraries and bespoke outdoor activities, tailored to each individual guest. Think equestrian sports, star gazing with in-house astronomers, fireside storytelling, hot air balloon rides and more.

 

Outrigger joins culture association

Premier beach resort brand Outrigger Hospitality Group has joined the World Tourism Association for Culture and Heritage (WTACH.org) as part of its larger ESG (environment, social, governance) initiative.

“WTACH’s ambition to respect and conserve local culture is fully aligned with ‘The Outrigger Way’ - our corporate foundation of caring for host, guest, and place,” said Monica Salter, Vice President of Corporate Communications and Social Responsibility.

“We’re grateful to be part of a network of like-minded organisations to protect and preserve cultural uniqueness through respectful engagement with local communities and custodians,” she said.

The Outrigger Way values system originated from Hawaii’s culture of hospitality. Whether in Fiji, Thailand, Mauritius, Hawaii or The Maldives, the host culture is of crowning importance at Outrigger and is incorporated in signature guest experiences.

 

Dur Hospitality allocates millions

Dur Hospitality has announced signing an agreement with Al Murshid Contracting Group for developing Rixos Jeddah Resort. The agreement aligns with Dur’s strategy to provide modern, luxurious and distinctive hospitality services that leverage the company’s leading position in the Saudi hospitality sector and at the same time accommodates the rapid growth in the tourism and hospitality industries.

The SR182 million ($48.53 million) investment involves the expansion and development of Rixos Jeddah Resort, expected to be carried out over a duration of 18 months. The project will restyle and enhance all facilities, including 174 rooms and 73 furnished residential villas, two restaurants, a spa for men and women, ballrooms, meeting rooms, a beauty centre, a fitness centre, a waterpark for children and several swimming pools. The resort will also feature vast green landscapes, sandy beaches with breath-taking views, a marina and a plaza overlooking the Red Sea.

Commenting on the milestone, Sultan Bader Al Otaibi, CEO of Dur Hospitality, said, “Rixos Resort is intended to meet the demands of the most discerning customers who seek bespoke hospitality experiences in a world of luxury, sophistication, and comfort in Jeddah, the Bride of the Red Sea.”

 

Four Seasons unveils Doha addressa

Four Seasons continues to expand its portfolio of hotels in the Middle East with the announcement of Four Seasons at The Pearl-Qatar. It is a new luxury development project currently under construction, featuring private residences and serviced apartments in The Pearl-Qatar Island in Doha. The new property is in partnership with Q Bayraq Real Estate Investments, a specialised real estate investment development company focused on high-end projects in Qatar.

The new luxury development will be situated on a private beach and surrounded by lushly landscaped gardens and pools. The 19-storey building will offer a new level of resort-style luxury living in the heart of the city. Available for short and long-term stays, 161 fully furnished apartments ranging from one to three bedrooms will feature full kitchens, ensuite laundry and expansive living areas including outdoor terraces, all beautifully finished by Wimberly Interiors with bespoke details throughout. In addition, 84 Private Residences will be available for purchase for those looking to make Four Seasons part of their everyday lifestyle.
