The Emerald Collection, an Italian group with over 40 years of experience managing 5-star luxury properties in the Indian Ocean, Caribbean, and East Africa, has confirmed its expansion plans and announced the arrival of a new property in the Northeast area of Zanzibar, Tanzania, by June 2022.
Across all room categories, the signature guest experience includes a variety of F&B experiences (including alcohol and minibar), high-speed Wi-Fi, access to all non-motorized water activities, a snorkelling excursion, and a boat tour once per week.
"We are excited to return to Zanzibar, where we have managed several owned and non-owned resorts for years, thus consolidating the presence of our brand internationally – says Ermenegildo Scarapicchia, CEO of The Emerald Collection – The success of Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa in the year of the pandemic, thanks to special measures implemented to ensure Covid-Free stays with the option of conducting tests on site, was a confirmation of the Emerald team's excellent work. The resort was the first in the Maldives to obtain GBAC STAR (Global Biorisk Advisory Council, a division of ISSA – The Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association) certification for the protection of its guests and employees, and to proceed quickly with the vaccination of all 320 staff members. The opening of the new Emerald resort in Zanzibar is scheduled for June 2022. This is an entirely new project for the island and for East Africa, with all suites, a wellness centre and congress area, a kids club, a diving centre, and, of course, our Deluxe All-Inclusive stay formula."
The new property will join the existing Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa, which opened in summer 2019.
