Hudayriyat Leisure and Entertainment District, once home to Arabian pearl divers, is now the newest sports entertainment and leisure offering in Abu Dhabi developed by Modon Properties. TTN toured this island and its newly opened attractions.
Located on the west coast of Abu Dhabi with views of the capital’s skyline, Hudayriyat Island offers something for everyone whether it be those who want to relax on the beach, those looking for something to keep their children occupied, or those hardcore sports and fitness enthusiasts. With both indoor and outdoor facilities, your clients can visit all year around.
321 Sports features a full sized football pitch tennis, basketball and badminton courts, jogging tracks, and a range of indoor fitness facilities.
Circuit X is Abu Dhabi’s newest outdoor adventure hub, offering thrilling, fun and challenging experiences for people of all ages. This one-of-a-kind adventure park features four exhilarating offerings including a BMX Track, Splash Park, High Rope Park and a Skate Park.
Children and adults alike will also have the opportunity to experience obstacle courses at OCR Park, the UAE’s biggest permanent obstacle course site. OCR Park will merge obstacle course racing and endurance fitness with the latest in technology to create an innovative new fitness challenge. This would also be ideal for corporate team building.
With up to 10 kilometres of tracks across the island, visitors can cycle on the Cycling Track, or walk on well-shaded footpaths. The Bike Park offers three different trails including one for beginners, intermediate and advanced cyclists. Visitors can also learn a little Hudayriyat Heritage along the way with educational signs and artworks along the path.
Marsana is at the heart of the destination with a waterfront promenade offering 17 food and beverage outlets, a beautiful beach (Hudayriyat Beach) spread over 24,000 square metres (with 600 metres dedicated to swimming) a play area and smaller skate park for the younger family members, outdoor gym, more cycle paths and a marina.
Topping this Island off (for me anyway) is the glamping offering at Bab Al Nojoum. Accommodation is available for all budgets from standard tents for two, to luxury tents for four, six or even a two-floor tent with private beach access. It also includes a camping area for families, and camper van options. You can also watch a film outside under the stars in the evenings.
Your guests can come and walk, cycle, jog or eat at the restaurants, but bookings are a must for the other facilities and, of course, for Bab Al Nojoum.
