The profile of Jumeirah International’s largest resort development Madinat Jumeirah is rapidly emerging along the coast of Jumeirah.
The Dubai-based luxury hospitality group has flooded the lagoon which surrounds Mina A’ Salam in preparation for its opening later this year.
The richness of Arabia’s maritime tradition is reflected in Mina A’Salam - the ‘Port of Peace Hotel’. Now nearing completion, this five star property, the region’s first Grand Boutique Hotel, is encircled by the large lagoon from which guests will be able to board water taxis to access all other parts of the resort.
Commenting on the resort, Serge Zaalof, general manager, Madinat Jumeirah said: “Madinat Jumeirah is the largest themed project of its type in the world, in the last 25 years.
“It is a monumental expression of Dubai’s links with a rich heritage and cultural tradition and promises visitors a vision in which the past and present combine to provide the ultimate in cultured modernity. The Resort’s underlying theme is one of authentic Arabia and the waterways reflect Arabia’s sea-trading past.
“Guests staying at Mina A’Salam will be able to enjoy the splendid aspects of the lagoon surrounding the hotel, as well as the Arabian Gulf which stretches beyond it,” he added.
“The official opening will be on October 1,” said Zaalof.
Commenting on the ‘feel’ of the hotel Zaalof said: “Mina A’ Salam is a beautiful authentic expression of Arabian architecture and design and will feature 292 rooms and suites. The hotel is located on the shores of the Arabian Gulf, adjacent to The Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Wild Wadi Water Park and overlooking Burj Al Arab.”
Mina A’ Salam translates from Arabic into ‘Harbour of Peace’ and is a tribute to the seafaring heritage of Dubai and the region. It is a Grand Boutique Hotel built around a beach side harbour adjoining 3.5 km of waterways.
“Mina A’ Salam is the gateway hotel to Madinat Jumeirah, the Arabian Resort - Dubai. Once completed next year Madinat Jumeirah will be a beautiful reconstruction of authentic UAE architecture and design, meticulously researched and designed to create a destination of magical qualities.
“A connecting boardwalk links Mina A’ Salam to the nearby Jumeirah Beach Hotel, the world-famous Burj Al Arab and the technologically-advanced Wild Wadi Water Park where guests can enjoy complimentary access,” said Zaalof.
Zaalof stated that the resort would target the leisure traveler.
“However, because of its extensive business and conference and meeting facilities, it will also attract the business traveler,” he added.
Commenting on Dubai 2003 Zaalof said, “Mina A’ Salam is the first phase of Madinat Jumeirah and will open in time for the 2003 World Bank/ IMF Annual Meetings. This a tremendous opportunity for Mina A’ Salam and indeed all of our hotels to showcase Jumeirah International to a world audience, and also to enable us to contribute to showing the world that Dubai is a premier destination with proven ability to host and manage complex high-profile global events in the future.”
