Mounib joins Renaissance Dubai Hotel

Amina Mounib, joins the Renaissance Dubai Hotel, as the public relations manager.She was working with the Sheraton in Egypt as the director of PR. Amina has a degree in Interpretaria English, French languages and International Hospitality Management from the Sorbon in Paris.

 

  • Overseeing the communications direction for Le Meridien in Kuwait following its takeover of the Ritz Hotel is Jean Michel Baradei, a Lebanese graduate in hotel management of the Lebanese University in Beirut.
    Fluent in French, Arabic and English, Baradei gained work experience in hotels in France and Lebanon during his studies, after which he completed an internship with the Abela company in Dubai.
  • Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has announced the appointment of Didier Dominique Picquot to the position of regional vice-president and general manager of the 356-room The Regent Bangkok. Picquot replaces Guy Rigby who was appointed general manager at The Pierre New York, a Four Seasons hotel.
  • Ibrahim Abdul Rahim, who has played a leading role in the success of the Dubai Shopping Festival and Dubai Summer Surprises, has been appointed director of global village.
    Abdul Rahim was previously projects director at DSF.
  • Robert Thrailkill has been named general manager of the new Conrad Miami. A 20-year hospitality veteran, Thrailkill began his hospitality career in front office operations for such hotels as the Hilton Boston Logan Airport, Trump's Castle(r) Casino in Atlantic City and the Hilton New York in midtown Manhattan.
  • German national Thorsten Ries has been appointed general manager of the The Ritz-Carlton, Sharm El Sheikh.
    After completing one and a half years in the position of hotel manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha, Qatar, Ries assumes the leading role at the Sharm El Sheikh property.
  • Clive Smith has joined the the InterContinental Jeddah as resident manager. He previously held the same role at the Holiday Inn Mayfair in London.
    Erik Weinmann, the new director of sales and marketing, at the InterContinental Jeddah, was previously director of sales at the InterContinental Phoenecia Beirut.
  • Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Task Force joins new general manager Thomas Tapken at the Mövenpick Hotel Bur Dubai to train staff in the group's philosophy to 'excite and delight' through uncompromising quality of product and service.
  • The Regency InterContinental has announced the arrival of Josef Schneckenreither, the new Food and Beverage manager.
    Born and raised in Austria - Josef studied and worked as a Chef, then later moved to Australia where he took up the position of Food & Beverage Manager with Burswood Hotel & Casino Resort.
    His portfolio includes other destinations such as Vietnam, Shanghai and Dubai where he was responsible for the opening, as well as running of established F&B outlets.
  • Alain Rigazzi has taken over as general manager of Movenpick Hotel Doha in Qatar.
    Rigazzi brings to the Movenpick Hotel Doha over 20 years of experience in managing hotels in Europe, Middle East, Far East, the Caribbean and the US.
  • Ziad Bassila has been appointed director of sales and marketing at the Crowne Plaza Beirut. He joined InterContinental Hotels Group in 1997 as account manager for the Crowne Plaza Dubai before becoming director - sales and marketing at the Holiday Inn Bur Dubai in 2001.
  • Remy Brigaudin from Normandy France has been appointed Conrad Cairo's new executive chef. Chef Brigaudin was graduated on 1977 from the culinary school, while working part time for 'La Couronne' in Rouen (France oldest Inn).
  • Norbert Hofmeister has been appointed general manager of the Golden Tulip Carthage Tunis, Tunisia. He is also in charge of the Tulip Inn, an Apartment Hotel unique of its kind in Tunis. Hofmeister is joining from the Robinson Select Athenee Palace in Djerba, Tunisia, after being with Intercontinental Hotels in Asia, Europe and Africa for nearly 20 years.
  • The Dnata Agencies' 'Round-the-World in 80 days' promotion conducted its latest draw on Saturday, marking a 'twin win' for a Jordanian couple. Saad Abdul Latif, the winner won a Dh5000 ($1,368) voucher. His wife Alia Abu Hassan won a similar voucher two weeks ago.
