Bahrain played host to 3,000 wedding guests from both Bahrain and from around the world in the last two months of 2019. during which it hosted eight Indian weddings, which directly contributed $5.5 million to the national economy.

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) – which organised these weddings, from coordination to planning and logistics –  said the majority of those wedding guests (2,400) flew in with Gulf Air.

Chief executive officer of BTEA, Nader Al Moayyed, said: "Bahrain will be hosting even more weddings in the coming months. This comes as a result of the tourism sector’s advanced infrastructure which boasts four- and five-star hotels, in addition to dedicated F&B and entertainment sectors, as well as an abundance of event management companies with vast capabilities to create unique wedding concepts catering to client’s varied interests and tastes.”
