From the first moment that a guest’s car turns into the lush 60 acre estate around One&Only Le Saint Géran, they know that they have arrived somewhere special.
The hotel, located on its own peninsula at Belle Mare, on the north eastern-coast of Mauritius, is completely private.
On the very tip of the peninsula, which protrudes into the Indian Ocean and forms a calm lagoon on one side, is one of the most glamorous helipads in the world. The resort is surrounded by a halo of creamy sand, with its own golf course, tennis centre, Givenchy Spa and Matt Roberts personal training, free-form pool and accommodation wings set in gorgeous tropical gardens.
The accommodation, comprising 148 junior suites, 14 ocean suites and a private villa, right at the easternmost end of the property for maximum privacy, stretches along the peninsula.
Ocean suites have double balconies or terraces and huge amounts of space - a generous living area with comfortable sofas, chairs and table, as well as a large bedroom and adjoining bathroom.
The villa, which is designed in the style of an island house, comprises two separate bedrooms and living areas, measures 6700 square feet and has its own butler, valet and chef and private pool.
For families, 12 ocean suites connect to junior suites, and 76 junior suites are interconnecting; the perfect solution for parents traveling with their children.
With three restaurants - La Terrasse, the Spoon des Iles by Alain Ducasse, and the easy-going beachside Paul et Virginie - and four bars, guests are never short of somewhere to sit and sip at a cocktail or order their next meal.
