Bujairi experience - an exlusive design experience

A celebration of Saudi, Emirati and Arab designers will form the elegant heart of Saudi Arabia’s Diriyah Season as couture and class come to the stunning Unesco World Heritage site.

The month-long festival of sport, culture and entertainment will see diverse sports such as Formula E, world class men’s tennis, Olympic qualifying elite equestrianism and heavyweight boxing hosted in the kingdom’s first capital city on the outskirts of Riyadh, known as the home of kings and heroes, as well as performances from some of the biggest music artists on the planet.

Complimenting these global events, the sophisticated Diriyah shopping district of Bujairi will host ‘The Bujairi Experience’ a four-week showcase of the nation’s, and the region’s, most influential and exciting designers, with creations including clothing, home furnishing, jewellery, leather goods and perfumes.

The season begins on November 22 and its first week will focus on the most talented designers in the kingdom.

These include visionary Saudi creative forces such as Sadeem Alshehail whose ‘slow fashion’ brand by Sadeem has drawn acclaim for paying homage to the culture and architecture of the Kingdom through her clothing. Sarah Abudawood, the designer of Yataghan jewellery, will display her latest pieces, while intricate abayas created by selected names such as Ghudfah, kharaz and Seba design KSA will reinforce elegance on show. Nool KSA will feature contemporary designs characterised by long cuffs and wide-legged trousers, reimagining garments from the kingdom's heritage. Meanwhile, a fresh and energetic look will be offered by designer Mashael Al Faris, described as “a mix of couture and streetwear”. Completing the week one lineup will be: By Art, Savolinna, By Noor, Shatha, Shutoon, Mayan, Amaz, Noonchi and Treasure of Kashmir.

‏Week two of The Bujairi Experience will focus on Emirati designers, week three will highlight work from across the Arab region, finally refocusing back on Saudi creations in the fourth week.

Princess Najla, area manager, said: “The Bujairi Experience will showcase the Saudi designers and creators from across the region. It will be an exhibition and an experience, which is also backed by the participation of several international companies."

“There will be exclusive concept stores from the kingdom and the region to present handpicked products pulled together from different trending brands and designers."

‏“This will be a celebration of style and sophistication that blends the goals of Vision 2030, providing a platform to support small and medium enterprises, with the excitement and elegance of the Diriyah Season.”

Around the Diriyah Season’s sporting jewels will be wrapped an iconic line-up of concerts, cultural festivities, food and retail experiences, and a stunning ‘Diriyah Oasis’, all hosted in Diriyah, the historic city which was transformed by the Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) into a world-class venue for sports and entertainment.

The exciting line-up of concerts will be revealed soon but music fans should reserve November 22 and 23 and December 6, 13 and 14 in their diaries.

The DGDA will be staging tours of the fascinating and beautiful At-Turaif district, a Unesco World Heritage site that stands as a symbol of Saudi’s rich history.

This year, Diriyah Season will introduce Diriyah Oasis, a cultural and entertainment district that pays tribute to Diriyah’s historical importance, being the birthplace of Saudi Arabia, and reflects the rich heritage, unique architecture and affluent resources of Saudi Arabia and the region.

Tickets for all of Diriyah Season’s spectacular events and entertainment will be available online at www.diriyahseason.sa with Formula E Tickets and Clash On the Dunes tickets on sale now. Tickets for other events as well as season-long tickets will be announced soon. - TradeArabia News Service
