British Airways launches A350 to Dubai

The newest aircraft in British Airways’ fleet landed on September 2 with an all-new Club World Suite enhancing its Premium Cabin offerings.

Following an earlier announcement by British Airways in August, which confirmed extensive trials on their newest A350 aircraft, the airline commenced its first long-haul service to Dubai.

The new aircraft features its latest generation business class seat, Club Suite. Not only is the aircraft quieter than some of its predecessors, there are also environmental benefits to flying on the state-of the-art A350 as 25 per cent lower fuel burn significantly reduces CO2 emissions.

Anjulika Dutton, British Airways’ commercial manager – UAE, Oman and Kuwait, said: “Given our legacy of flying to Dubai for more than 85 years, it was the perfect choice to launch our A350 service, providing our customers with added luxury and comfort while flying to, from and through our home hub in London Heathrow.”

British Airways’ Club Suite offers customers direct-aisle access, a door for greater privacy and luxurious flat-bed seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. It boasts 40 per cent more storage, including a vanity unit and mirror, wi-fi, 18.5-inch inflight entertainment screens, high definition gate-to-gate programming, and PC / USB power; every aspect of British Airways' Club Suite has been designed for today's customer.

Following the Dubai launch of British Airways’ A350 on selected services, flights will launch to Toronto and Bangalore later this year.

The arrival of the A350 is part of the airline’s £6.5bn ($8bn) current investment programme and forms part of an exciting year for the airline as it celebrates its centenary. Other activity includes the airline’s BA 2119 programme exploring the future of fuels, the customer experience of the future and the aviation careers in the next 100 years.

Prices to Dubai start from Dh2,235 ($608) return in World Traveller and Dh14,035 ($3,820) return Club World.
