Le Méridien Dubai proves 40 is really the new 20

Spread over 38 acres, Le Méridien Dubai Hotel and Conference Centre is impeccably designed with a contemporary European flair and is recognised as a MICE hub complemented by 18 distinct food and beverage outlets, boasting some of the finest cuisines from diverse cultures. Celebrating 40 years, Le Méridien Dubai hotel, since its inception, has been consistently proactive to deliver unique and memorable experiences to its patrons, through constant renovations that are worth over multimillion dollars.

For a hotel that has spanned decades of service excellence, staying relevant to global trends is as important as delighting guests with the finest hospitality. Intent on reinventing its offerings, the renovations at this urban retreat started in 2014, when the hotel added a total of 197 rooms, creating the exclusive 8-storey Le Royal Club building, to its existing portfolio of 383 rooms and suites. Each of the 52 sq. metre Royal Club rooms are among the largest in the city, delighting guests with the best, bespoke amenities and personalised assistance. To ensure that room renovations do not inconvenience guests, the refurbishment was executed in phases. Highlighting Le Méridien brand’s refined architectural language, the hotel recently completed renovation of the their premium suites and are yet to witness the final phase of the room renovations, slated for completion in September 2019. Blending comfort with understated luxury, each of the newly furbished suites are spruced with art and décor accents in jewel tones and brushed gold accents, lending a pop of colour to the modern interiors.

The hotel offers one of the largest renovated conference and banqueting facilities in Dubai, over 5,500 sqm. of intelligently planned events and conference spaces including 3 ballrooms with a capacity to accommodate up to 2000 people in a single event.

With an aim to elevate its guest arrival experience, the hotel’s lobby area received a dazzling facelift in 2017 and was relaunched as ‘Le Méridien Hub’. Welcoming guests to a unique sensorial environment harmonized through elements of light, sound and scent, the lobby at Le Méridien Dubai exudes a modern, refined vibe and sets the stage for guests to experience the hotel’s bespoke hospitality. Spacious and maintaining the hallmarks of the luxury hotel’s design aesthetics, the lobby exhibits a ‘juxtaposition of classic and modern’ style with its contemporary elements and timeless furniture in a sleek timber finish. Showcasing Le Méridien Dubai’s passion towards art, the heritage corner displays glimpses of the local culture with its artwork referencing abstract calligraphy and local iconic imagery.

Laying equal emphasis on its food and beverage offerings, the hotel, executed a 360-degree face-lift at Seafood Market. Inspired by elements of the ocean, the interiors are decked with cruise-liner style circular windows and tall wooden lamp posts, that brings to mind the feeling of walking down a harbour. The décor aesthetics beautifully merge European civilization with Mediterranean and Arab cultures. Upping the ante with a charming Parisian flair, the new concept of Beef Bistro (the Steakhouse) has been carefully distilled to render the feeling of walking into a chic yet understated bistro in France. Bright, revamped interiors of the bistro are dominated by white shuttered accents, stone walls, and artistically detailed chairs lend a restrained, understated charm to the décor, setting the mood to enjoy relaxed conversations whilst relishing the finest assortment of French specialities, the best selection of steaks and piping-hot grills. A new Spanish cuisine was launched in 2019, Bebemos, taking references from a culture that is renowned for its culinary vibrancy and relaxed way of life, the restaurant marries robust Spanish flavours with the country’s extraordinary artistic heritage. Kiku, the famous Japanese cuisine was also uplifted during summer 2019, for a further modern ambiance.

Similar upgrades were applied to the leisure areas of the hotel, with a particular focus to spruce up its fitness and wellness facilities. Extending Natural Elements Spa and Fitness’ comprehensive offerings, the newly renovated fitness centre was re-launched in May 2018, in partnership with Optimal Fitness. The spacious fitness facility includes a Free Training Zone, a Mixed Martial Arts studio, fully equipped for boxing and wrestling and certified personal trainers to guide members through a range of comprehensive exercise schedules to help achieve their desired fitness goals. Intent on delivering tranquillity to its guests, the hotel remodelled its Natural Elements Spa into a luxurious sanctuary, offering an exclusive range of signature treatments and purifying therapies for individuals and couples; inspired by Moroccan and ancient Ayurvedic wellness traditions for complete relaxation and rejuvenation.
