Air India’s Special Prorate Agreement (SPA) with Gulf Air has become effective, it was announced.
The pact, which will allow Gulf Air to carry passengers who want to take their connection flights on Air India from other Gulf points at no extra cost. was reached during the visit of a high-level Air India delegation to Bahrain in June.
“As per the SPA, Gulf Air will carry Air-India passengers on their flights on the pre-determined intra-Gulf points like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Doha, Jeddah, Dammam, Riyadh, Kuwait and vice versa to afford immediate connections to the Air India flights,” said Air-India manager for Bahrain and Jordan, H A Munaff.
“As Air India operates direct flights from Bahrain to only three points in India Mumbai, Cochin and Calicut — the new agreement with Gulf Air will give numerous travel options to our passengers, says Munaff.
