As the New Year approaches, most people are including a healthy mind and body on their resolutions list.

Oman's luxury private pool villa resort, Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara, is helping guests kick-start their early summer bodies with a wellness programme led by new wellness guru, Ratheesh Krishnan.

Boasting 14 years of experience in the health industry and widespread experience at various leading resorts including Bandos Maldives in Maldives and Dhigali Maldives, Krishnan seeks to deliver an integration of the body, mind and spirit to reach optimum health.

Nestled between a spectacular private beach and freshwater lagoon, Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara allows guests to pursue their “New Year, New Me” goals in a serene, idyllic environment. With the arrival of in-house fitness guru Ratheesh Krishnan, who is available for all health and fitness needs, the wellness programme is the perfect chance to spend a weekend detoxing in style.

“In line with our fundamental approach to customer service at Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara, we really wanted to provide a bespoke experience for our wellness guests,” said James Hewitson, general manager. “We are very pleased to have new wellness guru Ratheesh Krishnan on board to revive the entire wellness programme and bring a good start to the New Year.”

Available in three, five or seven-day packages, the retreats that Krishnan will be leading include rejuvenating spa treatments, purification therapy and nutritious cuisine along with individual activity sessions such as yoga and hiking the beautiful mountainous coast of Salalah. Full board dining centred on nutrition is designed specially to encourage good health and fuel the body efficiently. Guests will also receive additional discounts on all spa and wellness treatments depending on the length of their stay.

One highlight of the wellness programme is experiencing Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara’s luxury hammam, the only one in the region. Drawing on centuries of Arabian wellness, the ancient ritual starts with a muscle-relaxing steam bath in preparation for a black soap cleansing and kessa mitt exfoliation to sweep impurities. Once steamed and scrubbed, a Moroccan rhassoul treatment richly nourishes and rehydrates, leaving the skin silky soft. Other healing therapies include Kundalini massage and Shirodhara – a unique ayurvedic therapy focusing on the head, to harmonize the entire body.

The Balance Wellness by Anantara packages at Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara start from Dh1,470 ($400). - TradeArabia News Service
