The worldwide Club Med holiday programme is proving to be a hit in the UAE with the Far East and the Maldives being the most popular destinations, agents for the programme have said.
"Even though we only launched Club Med in the UAE and Qatar this year, demand for the unique holidays has far exceeded our expectations," said Bill Horsley, manager, Al Naboodah Travel & Tourism, the general sales agents for Club Med.
"Value for money has been the biggest reason for people choosing Club Med holidays while the proximity of destinations like Indonesia, Thailand and the Maldives make them appealing to families with limited budgets."
From as little as $99 a day, the cost of the holiday includes full board accommodation in tailor made holiday villages, all food and beverage for the whole family as well as extensive sporting facilities and entertainment for adults and children.
A full time team of more than 10,000 hosts and hostesses of over 80 different nationalities work at Club Med resorts.
Known as "GOs" or Gentil Organisateurs, they organise sports, supervise children and entertain holidaymakers.
Children are particularly welcome at Club Med with many villages having children's clubs designed specifically for taking care of and entertaining youngsters.
