Dubai among top five destinations

Pulkovo welcomed more than seven million passengers from January to June 2018

Dubai was listed among the top five international source destinations for Pulkovo St. Petersburg airport for the first half of 2018. The first four cities responsible for foreign passenger traffic to the airport were Antalya, Frankfurt, Minsk and Paris.

Pulkovo St. Petersburg airport welcomed 7,951,468 passengers in the first half of 2018, recording 11.3 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2017. The airport’s domestic traffic grew by 6.1 per cent to 4,902,738 passengers in the first half of the year. International traffic increased by 20.9 per cent, a total of 3,048,730 passengers.

Emirates features among the top foreign airlines servicing the airport along with Lufthansa, Belavia, Uzbekistan Airways and KLM. In total, they handled 587,084 passengers in the first half of the year.

In February 2018, Pulkovo won the ‘Russian Air Gates’ award: passengers named St. Petersburg airport best in Russia among the airports with more than 10 million passenger a year. Since 2010, the main operator of Pulkovo is Northern Capital Gateway LLC, an international consortium that manages the airport and implements its reconstruction and development project.
