However, here’s our line up of five awesome spas that require your clients to travel outside of the Mena region to enjoy:

Luxury resort REVĪVŌ opened earlier this year on three hectares of lush land in Bali. The resort offers 16 Balinese-style suites, including two four-bedroom villas that can be booked for more exclusive retreats, a restaurant, bar and pool side lounge, spa, hybrid fitness area and events space. Meaning “I'll live again”, the concept of REVĪVŌ is to soothe the spirit and rejuvenate the body through enriching the mind with a complete journey including relaxation activities, spa and holistic medicine treatments, and a personalised nutritional programme. The holistic spa brings together authentic ancient Balinese healing traditions, aroma, hydro and chromo therapies and facilities to nurture the body and achieve overall well-being and balance. The spa stays true to the age-old tradition of using elements from the surrounding environments to heal – each therapeutic treatment, restorative massage and nurturing body and facial treatment customised by highly skilled therapists using herbal-infused oils, aromas and massage techniques. The spa contains five double treatment rooms, each with their own outdoor bath, two hydro jet Vichy shower beds, hot and chill plunge pools, a Jacuzzi, infrared saunas, steam rooms, gorgeous changing rooms, an aromatic garden and a salt water floating pool set amidst tropical greenery.

Zurich’s five-star superior city hotel, Atlantis by Giardino, nestled at the foot of the Üetliberg mountain, offers the Ayurveda by Giardino programme by incorporating nutrition, spa treatments, yoga, mindful activities and coaching; to provide travellers with a holistic experience. The hotel’s signature dipiù Spa boasts a sauna zone, indoor and outdoor pools and a fitness and relaxation area. The spa offers modular Ayurvedic therapies targeting specific areas of the body e.g. Shirodhara treatment (pouring oil over the forehead), Pristabhyanga back massage, Padabhyanga foot and leg massage, Kalari marma whole-body massage and Sound massage among others. The retreat’s team comprises of Ayurveda practitioners, specialists and therapists who advise guests on the cures best suited for them, along with providing a nutrition plan based on their personal constitution.

The Ajwa Hotel Sultanahmet is renowned for honouring the splendour of Istanbul’s Ottoman roots through its design and architecture and this element extends to its dedicated spa Afiya. The Turkish Hammam or bath has been embedded in Turkish culture, and traditions and rituals associated with the process are kept very much alive at Afiya Spa. Not only can guests indulge in a classic session, but can also choose to try out Ajwa’s special treatment, incorporating an exfoliating mixture of brown sugar, honey and Turkish coffee. A range of massages is available, from aromatherapy and deep tissue to a hot stone therapy and reflexology varieties. For those in search of a more international experience, the Swedish, Balinese and Indian head massages will eliminate all cramps and knots. Over and above massages and hammams, Afiya Spa sees to it that patrons receive the very best of body and skin care treatments.

As part of its extensive renovation programme, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London will unveil a new contemporary spa, wellness and beauty facility later this month. The redesign of the next-generation of The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, London has been overseen by renowned international designer, Adam D. Tihany, and will introduce impressive new features and fresh, elegant interiors. The spa redesign takes inspiration from traditional Chinese fashion and symbolism. Included as part of the spa’s 14 treatment rooms, is a new spacious Oriental Suite with two massage beds and a Rasul water temple that combines the health enhancing properties of heat, steam and mud for a totally relaxing and skin conditioning treatment. The extensive spa menu will represent a tailor-made combination of Mandarin Oriental’s own signature therapies, together with treatments and journeys for the face and body using Mandarin Oriental’s bespoke signature oils, Aromatherapy Associates, Sodashi and Linda Meredith products. Guests will also be able to discover the powerful and effective Nescens cosmeceutical and anti-ageing face and body treatments for both men and women. In addition to the spa treatment rooms, there will be a room for traditional Asante Chinese Medicine consultations and treatments; a Bastien Gonzalez Pedi:Mani:Cure Studio and two additional beauty rooms providing a series of results-driven express treatments, for those who are short of time, including a soothing hair therapy treatment by Philip Kingsley.

Situated in the northern part of Mallorca near Pollensa, the family owned and managed Son Brull, a former monastery dating back to the 12th century, is the perfect rural sanctuary for those wanting to break away from the crowds and disconnect. The newly built spa, complete with contemporary design elements in wood and stone, is based around the four elements with a particular focus on getting back to nature and reconnecting with the earth. Replacing the original spa and larger in size, the new development consists of three treatment rooms, including one for couple’s treatments, and set in the palatial garden surrounded by the scent of local flowers and herbs. All the treatment rooms overlook the beautiful countryside and hills of northern Mallorca. The spa consists of an indoor water circuit pool, jacuzzi, sauna, hammam and a yoga and meditation room offering complimentary daily group yoga. Launching with an entirely new treatment menu, the spa will offer signature treatments, personalised massages, facials, manicures, pedicures and other grooming services.
