Gulf Hotel Group CEO, Garfield Jones, talked to TTN about the group’s Dubai venture, which is owned – and will be managed – by the group itself. The new Gulf Hotel Business Bay opening in Dubai next year, will be a 240-key hotel in Dubai’s Business Bay district.
Jones said: “It's a great location as it is close to the downtown office area but only 1.5km from The Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa. We are expecting a strong mix of corporate and leisure business.
“We believe that the reputation of The Gulf Hotel Bahrain has been built on an exceptionally strong food and beverage product. While our Dubai hotel will not have the same huge food and beverage offerings that we have in Bahrain, we will deliver the same quality of product, which we believe will help us establish a strong presence in the market. We certainly aim to deliver the highest standards of Bahraini hospitality. Our service team will include many staff currently working in our Bahrain properties.
“Expo 2020 is most definitely on the agenda. That will be a key period for Dubai with a significant increase in visitor numbers forecasted for the market,” said Jones.
