Meeting Point Emirates welcomed its first arrivals from Leipzig to Al Maktoum Airport (DWC) on November 2. This programme is the first and only charter that will fly from the German speaking market to Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) 365 days of the year, regardless of seasonality. This flight program will complement Emirates Airlines’ offering from Vienna, Zurich, Geneva, Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin and Hamburg.

This is the only charter programme that will fly to Dubai 12 months a year. The flight programme includes daily, year-round direct flights and departs on a weekly basis from Leipzig, Hannover, Cologne, Munich and Stuttgart. In winter, weekly flights are scheduled from Berlin and Basel, while in summer, weekly flights are scheduled from Nuremburg and Dresden. This initiative makes Dubai directly accessible from most of these cities for the first time.

In a statement given by Khaled Jouni, CEO Meeting Point International, during the press conference, he said, “We are thrilled with this launch; adding over 100,000 arrivals per year from the German speaking market is certain to have a positive augmentation on the destination and our local hotel partners alike.”  He added, “We, as a market leader in the UAE, saw a substantial increase in volume of guests to the UAE compared to the same period last year. That was the trigger that encouraged FTI GROUP and Meeting Point Emirates to go with a joint venture investment to increase guaranteed flight capacities and providing customers with more flexibility throughout the entire year.”

Kerstin Nestler, head of Destination at FTI Germany, explained the decision of FTI Group director Dietmar Gunz to expand the tour operators’ Dubai offering and confirmed the statement of the Dubai Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing DTCM that the United Arab Emirates are currently among the top ten holiday destinations for the German speaking market. “Therefore, we are increasing our capacities for the upcoming winter and will proceed operating the Condor charter in the summer season 2018. As the market leader for the UAE we can provide our customers now with even more flexibility throughout the entire year and can grow even further.”

Travel agents may book the charter flights via different brands of FTI Group (FTI, BigXtra and 5vF).
