The Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah, Al Wadi Desert offers a peek into nature’s treasures

Often heard and talked in the context of Middle East is Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), the story of a touristic destination on the rise. Compliments are showered on the opulence of experiences RAK has to offer: from the mountain retreats to the sparkling shorelines to glamorous desert experiences. The last one has been the most authentic of all the UAE experiences, and it is this that Ritz-Carlton plans to leverage.

Following the management agreement signed in late 2016 with RAK National Hotels (RAKNH), a subsidiary of RAK Hospitality Holding (RAKHH), and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, The Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah, Al Wadi Desert was officially flagged recently in presence of brand and owner’s representatives. Marking the brand’s entry into the Northern Emirate of the UAE, the hotel joins three other Ritz-Carlton properties operating in the country.

Yannis Anagnostakis, CEO of RAKHH and member of the board of RAKHH and RAKNH, is anticipating a great journey ahead and said: “The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company is globally known for its timeless luxury and presence in the best and most strategic locations in the world. We are thrilled to welcome this leading luxury brand to Ras Al Khaimah and we look forward to seeing it contribute to implementing the vision of the Emirate, bringing new standards for hospitality and best in class services to visitors of the region.”

The property is located on a 500-hectare wildlife nature reserve, and features 101 renovated luxury villas with private pools, offering tranquility, serenity and world-class service with desert escapism. With each bespoke pool villa designed by renowned architect and interior designer, Kristina Zanic, there is a strong focus on traditional Arabic details, highlighting the exquisite theme of luxurious Arabian hospitality with a touch of modern elegance. The hotel also showcases an impressive transformation following a complete extensive remodelling to the lobby lounge in addition to the introduction of several new restaurants.

With fully revamped onsite restaurants, The Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah, Al Wadi Desert offers guests and visitors several dining options. This includes the signature Farmhouse, which offers a menu inspired by local, quality produce, Kaheela, which hosts all-day dining or Lobby Lounge, serving a premium snack menu with a signature Afternoon Tea.

Located at the heart of the Al Wadi Nature Reserve, the resort has all the hallmarks of luxury combined with environmental protection. It is this authentic desert experience that will remain with guests and patrons being a complete contrast to the cosmopolitan charms of Dubai about 150 km away.

Guests at the hotel can also enjoy an expansive personalised itinerary through the Experience Concierge, which caters to every guests’ tailored interests and desires. The Experience Concierge’s programme is curated around four key pillars highlighting the essence of desert life and Bedouin culture; the Art of Falconry, Equestrian and Camel rides, Nature and Environment activities, and the brand-new Ritz Rangers programme for kids, where children aged four and older can be immersed in adventure, exploration and education with activities throughout the resort.

The Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah, Al Wadi Desert also hosts the first Ritz-Carlton Equestrian and Adventure Centre for guests to experience the natural desert landscape on an organised horse trek through 500 hectares of unspoilt nature.
