British Waterways London, the company which cares for and manages 90 miles of the Capital's canals and rivers and 110 acres of docks, is encouraging people to discover their local waterways this summer and take advantage of some fantastic special offers.
During the summer British Waterways London will be exhibiting at tourist information centres across London where visitors will be able to find out information about the city's waterway network as well as collecting a leaflet with a series of special offers valid throughout the summer.
There are plenty of things to do across the network and promotions in the leaflet include two-for-one and kids-go-free offers at waterside restaurants.
David Staddon, British Waterways London recreation manager, said: "London's canals are a wonderful retreat to escape the hustle and bustle of city life during the summer months. We encourage people to request a copy of the Capital Reflections leaflet to take advantage of the special offers and discover their local waterway."
As well as the special offers there is also the chance to enter a competition to win one of 12 prizes. The top prize of a holiday afloat on a narrow boat is courtesy of Lee Valley Boat Centre. From their base at Broxbourne winners can choose to cruise into London or take a trip on the Lee and Stort.
