Swiss-Belhotel expands in Bahrain

SWISS-Belhotel International (SBI) has signed a management agreement with Hassan Lari Property Development and Management to operate Swiss-Belresidences Juffair in Bahrain. Mohamed Lari, general manager of Hassan Lari Property Development and Management, said, “We look forward to working with a reputed partner like Swiss-Belhotel International. Swiss-Belresidences Juffair has been designed keeping in mind the comfort and flexibility that today’s modern travellers demand, and will offer guests an enriching experience.”

Expected to open by the end of 2017, Swiss-Belresidences Juffair is an upper midscale hotel apartments complex featuring 129 well-appointed two and three bedroom serviced units each equipped with fabulous facilities including a full-fledged kitchen. Enjoying a prime location in the city, in close proximity to popular shopping and dining attractions, the hotel also boasts outstanding recreation and dining facilities such as a swimming pool, a large spa connected with the health club, a mini theatre, a kids’ club, an all-day-dining restaurant and a deli corner in the lobby.

The tourism sector is an essential pillar of Bahrain’s economy. The Kingdom recently unveiled its brand new tourism identity ‘Ours. Yours. Bahrain’ as part of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) commitment towards reinvigorating the tourism industry.

 

Iconic Grosvenor House takeover complete

ONE of the world’s most iconic assets, the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, was acquired by international real estate firm Ashkenazy Acquisition Corp in what constitutes the most significant single asset hotel deal in UK history. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Ashkenazy Acquisition Corp has one of the largest portfolios of iconic assets in the USA and this acquisition reflects a continued focus to deploy over the next 24 months, an additional $2.33 billion of equity in acquiring global iconic assets.

The Grosvenor House Hotel, iconising a tradition of luxury, was built in the 1920s and opened in 1929 on the site of Grosvenor House located on Park Lane, Mayfair. Fully refurbished with a world-class architectural design, the Grosvenor House Hotel brings 350 years of London history and tradition to life in one of the most prestigious luxury markets globally.

 

Thomas Cook announces new hotel

THOMAS Cook, one of the world’s leading leisure travel companies, and Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority have extended their major co-operative marketing agreement which aims to raise the profile of the UAE emirate as a premier leisure destination for European tourists. The partnership, which started in 2016, enters its second phase in August 2017 and seeks to further develop Ras Al Khaimah as a year-round destination for holidaymakers through inspiring marketing content delivered via Thomas Cook’s multi-channel media offering.

Further to this, Thomas Cook is opening its newest own-brand hotel, the smartline Ras Al Khaimah Beach Resort, in November later this year. The hotel will be Thomas Cook’s first own-brand hotel in the growing tourist destination of the United Arab Emirates.

The contemporary designed smartline Ras Al Khaimah Beach Resort will feature 253 chalets, a 700-metre private beach, three pools, four bars, a coffee shop, a buffet restaurant, a spa with sauna and Jacuzzi and inclusive wi-fi.

 

Jumeirah inks deal for Makkah project

DUBAI Holding, the global investment conglomerate and Jabal Omar Development Company, one of the Middle East’s largest real estate company, have signed an agreement to develop Jabal Omar Jumeirah Makkah Hotel in Saudi Arabia. Managed by Jumeirah Group, the world-renowned luxury hospitality brand, the five-star hotel is walking distance from the Holy Mosque and comprises four towers with stunning views of Masjid-al-Haram.

The Jabal Omar Jumeirah Makkah Hotel will include 1,033 guest rooms along with 93 villas and will feature a variety of food and beverage offerings, meeting facilities, executive lounge, gymnasium and over 90 retail units throughout the complex. The hotel will be operational in early 2019.
