Hatem Chatter, senior director Middle East, The Leading Hotels of the World, predicts that the top holiday destinations for this year will be Tokyo, Portugal, Interlaken, Serbia and Italy.

Tokyo will see a rise in tourism as people are curious to know more about the beautifully curated spring flower festivals and are planning vacations around that time to be able to see them. Well known for its rich culture, it is becoming a popular holiday destination. Portugal, historically beautiful with a Mediterranean touch and new age innovations, is a less explored country. Its beaches and local cuisine are the main pull factors for Middle East tourists.

Ski and spa destinations such as Interlaken, a strategically located base town for anyone who wishes to see a lot of the Bernese Oberland. The town is surrounded by the Alps and is situated in between two beautiful lakes. Serbia, known for its local delicacies like coffee and raspberries, is also culturally very rich and tourists are now keen to know the history of places they visit and this makes Serbia quite unique and appealing, Chatter says.

Italy, mainly Venice and Florence, never fail to impress tourists. Venice, a city that one must visit at least once in their lifetime. A paradise on Earth, The Floating City is a heavenly combination of beauty and aesthetics. Florence with its own beauty to boast of, it is also home to a number of luxury fashion brands.
