The Office of His Highness Sheikh Falah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT), as part of its support for the project to link the cities of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain via Hyperloop technology.

The partnership will allow the company to accelerate the pace of its project. Commenting on the announcement of the strategic partnership, Moustafa Samir – Advisor at the Office of His Highness Sheikh Falah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan – said: 'His Highness’ patronage of HTT is a confirmation of his interest in supporting strategic development projects that will strengthen the position of the emirate of Abu Dhabi, both internationally and regionally. In line with the Abu Dhabi 2030 vision, the emirate is keen to take a leading role in the launch and adoption of initiatives and projects that are sustainable and based on the latest technologies and innovations.'

HTT is a rival to Hyperloop One, another tech specialist that is conducting a feasibility study with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai for building the superhighway hyperloop link between the city and Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi’s Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport is a key stakeholder in the project and a lead collaborator. Eng. Khalid Mohamed Hashim, acting executive director for land transport sector, said, simplified the vision and what it will mean for travel, 'We aim to study the feasibility of developing the first Hyperloop system, which is one of the most advanced transportation technologies, expected to reach a top speed of 1,200 kilometers per hour. We hope to take advantage of this technology to connect the cities of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, which will result in a travel time of about eight to twelve minutes.'
