Kempinski Worldwide has appointed Michael Henssler as general manager for Kempinski Julai'a Hotel and Resort in Kuwait.
Michael, a German national, started his career as a chef and then graduated from Lausanne Hotel Management School in Switzerland. He joined Kempinski, after appointments in Switzerland, France, Germany and the US in 1994 for the opening of the Kempinski Airport Hotel Munich, Germany. After taking over various roles in St Petersburg, Russia and again Munich he worked at the Ajman Kempinski Hotel and Resort as executive assisting manager in the UAE. Samer El Achcar has been appointed as director of sales, at the soon to be opened Kempinski Julai'a Hotel and Resort in Kuwait. Samer, 30, holds a BS in Marketing from the Lebanese American University and has worked in Dubai for the last 5 years. He began his career with Bass Hotels and Resorts, re-branding Holiday Inn Resort Sharjah and opening Holiday Inn Downtown Dubai. He joined Jumeirah International in 2000, was part of the pre-opening sales team of the Emirates Towers Hotel in charge of the GCC markets.
